Sally Mermelstein, Of Counsel at Kantor & Kantor, LLP, will be one of the speakers for the session on Designing Disability Plans with Intentionality and Purpose: Mental Health Parity and Beyond. This session discusses the lack of mental health parity in disability benefits; the appropriateness of LTD plans or policies that pay for only a brief time when an employee is disabled from a mental illness. The session includes a discussion of plan or policy provisions that have consequences for certain types of employees and how different courts interpret disability provisions.
