Karyn Bishof is a former firefighter/ paramedic sidelined after dealing with the lingering effects of COVID-19 for the last year. Ms. Bishof founded the COVID-19 Long Hauler Advocacy Project, which is focused on advocacy, education and support for Long Haulers and is a Co-Founder of the Long COVID Alliance.
The group focuses on advocating for long haulers by pushing for legislative actions to protect and help longhaulers and research into Long Covid to find treatment options and hopefully a cure. The group provides education to patients, medical providers and researchers and their friends and family, including how to advocate for yourself and what to expect and do throughout your Long Haul journey. The group also offers a safe place for members to discuss their ongoing journey and support from members who are going through the same things, often not available and misunderstood from non Long Haulers.
