Mark Lieber

For the last 22 years, Mark Lieber
has devoted his legal career as a trial lawyer to representing individuals who have suffered serious personal injuries or financial losses.  Mark has successfully handled hundreds of cases and has been involved in several high profile wrongful death, personal injury and insurance bad faith cases.  He has collected close to 100 million dollars for his clients.  He is committed to his clients' causes, by achieving outstanding results in settlement, arbitration, mediation and trial.  He believes the clients' needs are paramount; that the lawyer's service to his client is the central focus of the practice of law.  With each new case brings new challenges.

Over the last 10 years, Mark has also devoted significant time to the representation of families who have children with special education needs to ensure the schools are providing these children with the necessary benefits and protection.  In 2008, Mark made new law in California with the case of Jennifer C v. LAUSD expanding the school's duty to protect special education students from assaults, including sexual assaults.

Mark has tried cases in both state and federal court, and conducted approximately 100 binding arbitrations.  He has also been involved in some significant appellate decisions including Jennifer C. v. LAUSD (2008) 168 Cal. App.4 th 1320, Chowdhury v. City of Los Angeles, et al. (1995) 38 Cal. App.4 th 1187, and Mitchell v. Gonzalez (1991) 54 Cal.3d 1041.

Mark received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law in 1989, where he was a member of the Law Review, the Moot Court Honors Program, and the Student Bar Association.  Before associating with Kantor & Kantor, Mark was a partner at Greenberg and Panish in Los Angeles, California, which dissolved after the death of Mark's longtime mentor, David Greenberg.
